External link detection scans user-generated text for URLs, shortened links, partial domains, and obfuscated link patterns. Lasso's four-layer pipeline detects the link, applies your domain rules, classifies the link's intent through context-aware AI, and routes edge cases to human review. Every link is classified with a confidence score.
Lasso expands shortened URLs (bit.ly, tinyurl, t.co) to their full destination before classification. Obfuscated domains with character substitutions or unicode tricks are decoded and matched against your domain rules. The full destination URL is what gets classified, not the shortened version.
Yes. Set up domain allowlists and blocklists in the dashboard per community or platform. Trusted domains (your own site, YouTube, Wikipedia) pass automatically. Blocked domains (known spam, competitors, prohibited services) are rejected. Links to unlisted domains are classified by the AI Moderator based on context and intent.
Lasso's AI Moderator detects when users attempt to move conversations off-platform through messaging app links, external payment URLs, and coded solicitation language. On marketplaces, this prevents sellers from bypassing platform fees. On dating apps, it protects users from romance scams. The AI classifies link intent based on context, not just pattern matching.
External link detection is part of Lasso's text moderation pipeline. It runs alongside all of Lasso's other features. All text moderation categories share the same four-layer pipeline. Link detection results appear in the moderation dashboard alongside other classifications.
Lasso's external link detection catches the URLs that bypass every other filter. Set up in minutes, not months.
